Yellow and Black

I love experimenting and trying new looks when it comes to Indian fashion. Below was a vintage Lengha ensemble I created. I added a black Bebe crop top to my traditional silk Lengha Bottom- it was very comfortable and fun to wear!

Wedding Attire: My Flower Design

This past weekend I went to a beautiful wedding at the Berkeley Botanical Gardens. I thought this would be the perfect occasion to wear this suit I designed. I found this fabric and fell in love with the  bright flowers and gold sequins. Due to the horizontal flowers I went with a tube top neck line which was perfect for the warm weather. Considering it was a garden wedding, the suit went perfectly :)

My Takka (Pre Engagement/Engagement)

Fun Fact: About two weeks ago I had a  "Takka" ceremony. At the time I had no idea what it actually meant to have a Takka so I decided to do a little research. The word "Takka" means to set a date. The groom's family traditionally comes to the bride's house and together the families set the wedding date.

When deciding what to wear to the event, I looked into various options and I decided to go with a Lengha. I have a HUGE love for lenghas, so it was a no brainer for me. Since I was wearing a lengha, I kept my hair simple and sleek in order to not be overly dressed up. I also did my own makeup and kept it fairly simple, yet classy.
